Erected
to honour the memory of the Fallen from the First World War, the War
Memorial is a work by Angelo Zanelli, the sculptor who also designed the
“Altare della Patria” in Rome.
It
is made by a bronze frieze showing the stages and
activities of

human
lifeand, in the centre, a winged Victory swooping down on a plough.
The monument, whose total length is about 50 metres, decorates the
former entrance of the stadium, which owes it its name (Stadium “of
the Victory”). |
