Tolentino
1932-2001
Born
in Tolentino in 1932. He was educated at the vocational school
“Arts and Crafts” of Tolentino. In 1948 he began his working
activity as a typographer for the publishing of the Basilica of
St. Nicola, then he worked as an employee in the typography
FILELFO of Tolentino up to when in 1957 he “set up business on
his own” in a little premise thanks to the assistance of some
young and faithful workers. His love for the handicraft art
brought his little business to increase its dimensions and to be
equipped of a refined “Germany” leather working. The
times went by, burocracy increased, the working methods were
changing and technology entered in the craftmanship too.
According to Aulo all this was index of poor-quality: the
beautiful, art, manual ability are at the base of the artistic
and lasting creations, these were his ideas which have been
always confirmed within his Firm. His work as “artisan artist”
continued individually. The fascination for the past world and
its fervent passions brought him to become the founder member in
the Marche of the Order of the Templar Knights in accordance
with the rules of St. Bernardo. He died suddenly on the 22nd of
January in 2001.
