AULO PEZZOTTI


Tolentino 1932-2001

Born in Tolentino in 1932. He was educated at the vocational school “Arts and Crafts” of Tolentino. In 1948 he began his working activity as a typographer for the publishing of the Basilica of St. Nicola, then he worked as an employee in the typography FILELFO of Tolentino up to when in 1957 he “set up business on his own” in a little premise thanks to the assistance of some young and faithful workers. His love for the handicraft art brought his little business to increase its dimensions and to be equipped of a refined “Germany” leather working. The times went by, burocracy increased, the working methods were changing and technology entered in the craftmanship too. According to Aulo all this was index of  poor-quality: the beautiful, art, manual ability are at the base of the artistic and lasting creations, these were his ideas which have been always confirmed within his Firm. His work as “artisan artist” continued individually.The fascination for the past world and its fervent passions brought him to become the founder member in  the Marche of the Order of the Templar Knights in accordance with the rules of St. Bernardo. He died suddenly on the 22nd of January in 2001.
